The South Africa Feeling

Travel advisor Tom describes his time on the South Africa Experience

The worst part of any trip is the end.  The waiting-for-the-plane (2 hours delayed); the murky cold weather on return home; ‘real life’. A fifteen minute taxi ride took me to the Samesun Hostel for my first night in Vancouver.  Still a little nervous about what was to come, I was really happy to find the staff were awesome and that the hostel had a...

New Cheetah Cub at Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary

This morning, our friends over at the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary sent over adorable photos of baby cheetah Cubby.

Cubby, who was originally named Lorraine until his real gender became clear, was found by a farmer in Namibia in November. He was then taken to the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary where he will now live; unfortunately, he cannot be released into the wild as he has become used to humans and has therefore lost his fear of them.

The staff at the sanctuary have built Cubby his own small camp...

Building a Positive Future

This morning, travel advisor Tom came bounding into the office, full of excitement. “It’s done, it’s done!” he called to us all as he ran around the office showing off a photo of a library.

But this wasn’t just any library. In fact, this was the library for which Tom had laid the foundations only a few months before as part of a volunteering trip he went on with Real Gap. And now the library is finished and he takes great pride in the fact that he helped to make that...
