Inside Thai Adventure: What to Expect

By Gap 360

Last updated: 5th June 2014

It's official: Thai Adventure is legendary within the Gap 360 camp. It's received 9/10 stars from over 260 past travellers, the dates for the summer are already packed out and frankly - we don't think it's hard to see why. It's BIG news and to show the rest of you what it's all about we thought we'd run through our biggest finds, surprises and share our secret tips with you about one of our favourite trips. Watch out gang, give it five minutes and we're sure you'll be wanting to come to Thailand with us too, after all - it's Thai good to miss!

Why we love it?

One of the main reasons why Thai Adventure is so popular is because it provides travellers with the chance to backpack around one big area in a large group. Most of our customers are first time travellers, so not only does the trip ease them in to travelling life, but it gives them a chance to meet a load of other backpackers too. Our group leaders are all travel experts – and during your time away with us you'll definitely find your feet on the road, which is then perfect if you want to set off alone afterwards.

The Juicy Bits

Rummaging between the jam packed itinerary of Thai Adventure and asking us to select our favourite bits is a bit like asking your parents to pick their favourite child; each activity provides a different outlook on life in Thailand and they're all pretty special! Personally we love the Thai cooking lesson the gang take in Kanchanaburi, the temple raiding days in Bangkok and the serious amount of beach time you'll get in Koh Phangan. Waking up to the crash of the waves in your own beach pad? Priceless.

Most Surprising Part?

The numbers on Thai Adventure generally range from 8-36 (depending on the season) and it always amazes us how well the groups get along. The camaraderie of each group is incredible.

What sort of travellers suit the Thai Adventure?

Everybody! We’d always assumed that loud, confident travellers would get on the best – but after a few of us have experienced the trip for ourselves we quickly clocked that each group had at least a few shy backpackers on board, and they loved it just the same. Not everybody likes to party each night, and if you want to spend the evening in to chill at the beach at least a handful of others will want to as well!

Celebration time

Thailand's the upcoming party capital of the world, and on Thai Adventure there are many, many chances to have the ultimate night out. We'll hit the clubs in Bangkok, the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan and there's also the chance to have a rave on a night boat. Yep, it's really as GOOD as it sounds!
