How to Make Money Down Under

Working holidays in Australia are all the rage. Jet over to the other side of the world, see the incredible sights of the country and fund your travels as you go. What could be more perfect for the traveller on a budget?

If you’re looking to see the world but you don’t have a lot of money to do it, working holidays are the ideal option and Australia is one of the most exciting places to do it. With language barriers non-existent and plenty of jobs available, you’ll be sure of a brilliant time.

Here at Gap 360, we offer a variety of paid work in Australia options, all of which set you up in country with collection on arrival, accommodation and help to get you jobs when you need them. Some options even include activities to get you really settled and some great parties with other like minded travellers (take a look at our Absolute Oz Jobs).

The kind of work you’ll do will vary but will predominantly be entry level positions such as bar work or construction. These are the kinds of jobs that will tie you over until you’re ready to move on – plus the wages in Australia are much higher than over here too.

But don’t just take our word for it! Check out some of the comments we’ve had from travellers on our Australia paid work packages:

Olivia Newitt

“Arriving and the orientation week was insane – I was on cloud 9 because I couldn’t actually believe that I was on the other side of the world! Also bungee jumping, learning to surf then working at a surf camp, going for a night out in Bondi with Plan B and Example, getting on Bondi rescue, and definitely all the awesome people who became such good friends!

Olivia Robertson

“Skydiving over Mission Beach, camping on K'gari with wild dingos running around, sailing the Whitsunday Islands, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, spending Christmas on Coogee Beach, chilling with kangaroos, seeing the Blue Mountains: Amazing!”

Stacy O’Brien

“I ended up finding my future husband on this trip. He is Australian and we are expecting our first child next year. I’ve also applied for a permanent visa to be able to stay here. I enjoyed every part of my trip I’m so glad I did it !”
