No one likes packing. It’s an unpleasant task at the best of times. Even if you’re just packing for a quick overnight stay, the process of sitting down, organising your things, making a check-list and trying to squish it all into one bag is a headache you’d rather avoid.

So, as you can probably imagine, packing for a

#DanUnder - Dan Goes Down Under

Last month Real Gap Experience's Dan said 'bye' to Brighton, and 'HELLO' to Melbourne as he made the move over to join our Australian team. Thing is, Dan hadn't actually been to Australia before.... (eeek)

We all knew that Dan would LOVE Melbourne. Surprise surprise, he's in love with the joint. (Check him out with one of our resident Aussies, Real Gap's Alicia!). We thought we'd check in with Dan to see how he's been getting on #DanUnder (we're PROUD of that one, we must admit!).

Hiya Dan!...

Travelling- A Mum's Perspective

So, Mel and Becky set off on the trip of a lifetime in September. Not able to wait for a year before seeing Mel again, we - Mel's Mum and Dad, decided to have a trip of a lifetime of our own and see Mel in Australia.

Mel had a full itinerary for us and we had 10 days of fabulous sightseeing. To all those parents who like us aged rapidly when told the news their offspring are off to travel the world, be assured Australia is THE place to be. Sydney is a warm (not just the weather) and...

Surprise family reunion

So it's been a very eventful few weeks for me here in Sydney. As you know Melissa had her parents and sister come visit (see previous blog) and I was expecting my sister to visit too. I was really excited to see her and I was planning things we were going to do. A few days before she arrived my dad skyped me and told me he was right here in Sydney! I thought he was joking. I can't believe he kept it quiet but I'm glad he did because it was an amazing surprise.

I met up with my dad at his...

Family visit to Sydney

Hello there! I've just had the best week ever; my family came all the way from Liverpool to see me in Sydney!

Tip: My family only booked this mega adventure three weeks before travel, and the prices were still not too bad which is great. Turns out a spontaneous visit to Australia is possible!

My mum, dad and sister decided to break up the journey here by spending a few days in Bangkok, which was great for them - but I was itching for them to get here so it seemed like forever!

After a 6am...

1. Sidebar

I think this has to be our favourite place. Its based at WakeUp hostel, which is where you'll stay if you go for Real Gap's Paid work and Sydney intro programme. Its got quiz nights, live music, as well as cheap drinks and a happy hour! Also, if you go on a Wednesday night, then you get 2 free drinks, free chips...
