Unique Travel Experiences

It could be argued that every travel experience is unique to the person experiencing it at that moment, as no two people will feel, see or do exactly the same thing on their travels. But, there is a distinct difference in the experiences on offer to travellers in the first place; and some stand out as being one-of-a-kind experiences that aren't readily available elsewhere (our favourite kind), so we're taking a look at some of the most unique aspects of some of our top trips.

1. Nepal Monastery Experience

Buddhist monks are typically reserved and private people, so getting a chance to talk, teach, and socialise with them is a rarity. With our Nepal Monastery Experience, you won't just be mingling with the monks, you'll be living with them too, and offering them the opportunity to learn as much about your culture as you will theirs. A truly wonderful and spiritual experience, you'll gain a unique insight into monks' lives, whilst enjoying your spectacular Nepalese surroundings deep in Himalaya country.

2. Rio Carnival Experience

The world's biggest street party deserves a place on every traveller's to-see list, but so often people miss out on Rio Carnival because their travel itinerary and dates don't allow the time for it. That's why we have a dedicated trip for the carnival itself, plus some awesome added extras to enjoy, on either a four or seven day trip. Don't forget to pack your sequins and dancing shoes!

3. Australia Paid Ranch Work

Australia attracts foreign visitors on working holiday visas all year round, and we'd highly recommend getting in there and joining them. But rather than doing the usual bar work, hotel work, or fruit-picking, why not try your hand on a ranch, working with horses, cattle, and farm machinery, learning how to drive tractors and agricultural motorbikes, as well as getting a grasp on planting and harvesting crops, and generally maintaining farmland? Not only will you get a chance to relax and unwind in the beautiful beachside town of Noosa – on the Sunshine Coast, you'll also get full training from a fun team with a guaranteed job waiting for you afterwards.

4. South Africa Great White Shark Experience

There are plenty of conservation and wildlife trips out there for the environmentally aware traveller, but if you're looking for something a little more testing, then our South Africa Great White Shark Experience will really put your nerves to task. You'll help marine biologists monitor, track, and tag these huge creatures, and in doing so you'll be helping protect the species. You'll even get to cage dive to get even closer to the predators – not recommended for the faint-hearted!

5. Amazon Jungle Adventure

If you're looking for an authentic jungle experience, there's no place more exciting to trek through than the Amazon. Our Amazon Jungle Adventure doesn't simply take you on a guided tour of the world's largest tropical rainforest, it gives you the opportunity to become completely immersed in rainforest life, by camping in hammocks under the Amazon's natural, leafy canopy, learning survival techniques from the Cabaclo communities, and spotting the area's indigenous wildlife, from piranha to caiman.

6. Belize Dive and Marine Conservation

Belize is pretty outstanding when it comes to beachside beauty, but its desert islands dotted throughout the Belize Barrier Reef, in the Caribbean Sea, are out of this world. And that's exactly where you'll be staying on our Belize Dive and Marine Conservation programme! In fact, you'll be staying on your own private desert island with the rest of your team – not many people get to do that in their lifetimes. You'll also get to go on plenty of diving adventures, carrying out surveys and keeping an eye on the beautifully colourful underwater world. Don't have a PADI diving certificate? No problem – this trip includes training for your qualification as well.

7. Journey Through Japan

Japan is a fascinating, mystical land, and offers so much diversity and places of interest, that sometimes travellers are overwhelmed and not sure where to start, so we've constructed a tour that will have you travelling the length and breadth of this fantastic country, stopping at some of the most incredible locations throughout. You'll watch a samurai sword demonstration in Tokyo, Feed monkeys in Arashiyama Monkey Park, catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji, board a pirate ship and sail across Lake Ashi, tour the incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto, visit Hiroshima and Miyajima Island, and stay in a capsule hotel in Osaka, plus a heap load of other activities.

8. Zambia Building and Wildlife Experience

Looking for a volunteer experience that ticks all the boxes? Our Zambia Building and Wildlife Experience does just that with an excellent itinerary of house building for the community, where you'll learn traditional African construction methods, as well as getting to help out in a local school and nursery, visit a local feeding programme for orphaned children, and spend time volunteering in a hospital pharmacy. You'll also get to go on an epic wildlife safari and visit the spectacularly beautiful Victoria Falls – the largest waterfall in the world.
