Day 1: Arrive in Borneo
Land in beautiful Borneo and meet your trip leader. Say hello to your new travel friends and watch the sunset together before going out to experience the buzz of Malaysian nightlife in the evening.
Day 2: Gaya Island
Embark across the sparkling sea on a speedboat towards Gaya Island. Then get ready for an underwater paradise as you dive beneath the surface on a magical snorkel safari!
Day 3: Ocean Conservation
Get involved with vital conservation work today by replanting broken pieces of coral in the ocean. Afterwards, make your way back to the sand and help the local team with a fantastic beach clean.
Day 4: Rainforest Adventures & Zip Lining
Set off for an enchanting trek to another part of the exotic island. Take in all the sights of the beautiful rainforest before getting the ultimate adrenaline rush as you zip-line through Gaya Island to Sapi Island.
Day 5: White Water Rafting
Go out and explore on a fun road and train trip. Then take your travel friends to enjoy some white water rafting on the rushing Padas River.
Day 6: Kinabalu National Park & Hot Springs
Leave the hustle and bustle of Kota Kinabalu behind as you escape to the magical Kinabalu National Park. Then relax and unwind at the Poring Hot Springs.
Day 7: Langganan Waterfalls & Jungle Resort
Rise early before trekking to the amazing Langganen Waterfall. Then journey onwards to the spectacular Sepilok Jungle Resort to experience the jungle alive at night!
Day 8: Orangutan and Sun Bear Volunteering
Be amazed at the Orange Rehabilitation Centre and the Sun Bear Rehabilitation Centre today for a once in a lifetime opportunity. Learn about the animals, prepare their food and and watch in wonder as the animals enjoy their natural habitat.
Day 9: Gomantong Caves & River Safari
Head along the Kinabatangan River and make a pitstop to the spellbinding Gomantong Caves. Afterwards, enjoy an epic river safari to spot elephants, orangutans and cheeky proboscis monkeys!
Day 10: Jungle Night Walk, School Visit & Cooking Class
Make your way over for an unforgettable river safari to spot local wildlife. Then head to a local community where you will play football with the school children and learn how to cook Malaysian food. In the evening, go out for a fantastic jungle night walk.
Day 11: Farewell Borneo!
Wave goodbye to Borneo as you make your way back to the airport to fly home. This is a trip you will never forget!

10 nights’ accommodation are included on this trip and will be a mix of modern air conditioned single-sex hostels, camping under the stars, eco-ranches, adventure lodges and jungle resorts. Most accommodation has limited wifi with the exception of Gaya Island. Mosquito nets are provided in the jungle resorts.
Rooms will vary between 2 to 12 people and you will need to bring your own sleeping bag with you for the camping on Gaya Island.
10 breakfasts, 9 lunches & 8 dinners are included on this trip. All other meals and snacks will have to be purchased yourself. Meals included will be served buffet style or as a set menu with drinks. Most dietary requirements can be accommodated (e.g vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free meal options etc).
Borneo staples include grilled fish, barbecued prawns, fried rice, noodles, and local vegetables seasoned with garlic, ginger and rich tasty sauces. Your expert group leader can recommend local eateries and restaurants for you also.
You should arrive into Kota Kinabalu Airport on day 1 of your trip between 6am and 6pm local time. Your trip leader will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation where you will meet your group.
Your trip ends on day 11 and we recommend you fly out of Sandakan Airport after 2:30pm.
The minimum age for this trip is 18 years old.
Usually, British citizens do not need a visa to visit Malaysia and will be given permission to stay for 3 months on arrival. Visas for longer stays or for non-tourist purposes must be obtained from the nearest Malaysian embassy before you travel.
If you plan to participate in the scuba diving during the trip, you will need to complete a Fit to Dive form prior to arrival. Certain medical conditions such as asthma, epilepsy and heart/lung conditions may prevent you from scuba diving and should contact your doctor for advice. Snorkelling will be available to those who wish to snorkel instead of scuba dive.
