Day 1-29: Thai Experience
Day 1: Arrival
Explore the local area and meet the rest of your group. Tonight, visit some of Bangkok’s coolest drinking haunts.
Day 2: Bangkok
Head out and explore Bangkok's canals by a long-tail boat today before stopping off to visit Wat Pho and Wat Arun and the stunning Grand Palace. In the evening, head out and discover some of the cities best hidden bars and hangouts!
Day 3: Explore Bangkok by Bicycle
Discover Bangkok on two wheels today on a guided bicycle tour. Later, we’ll catch an overnight train or bus to Chiang Mai.
Day 4: Chiang Mai
Take part in an authentic Thai cooking class then, in the evening, enjoy Chiang Mai's nightlife.
Day 5: Elephant stopover
Get to know the elephants at this fantastic project. Feed them, walk with them and help bathe them.
Day 6-7: Hill trekking
Hike the trails beside rice paddies, rivers, and waterfalls to our overnight retreat. The next day we’ll go rafting on traditional bamboo rafts.
Day 8-9: Chiang Mai
Spend the morning with the elephants before making the journey back to Chiang Mai. The next day, visit Doi Suthep to see Wat Phra That, and Chiang Mai’s famous night bazaar.
Day 10: Free time in Chiang Mai
Free day in Chiang Mai to explore some more at your own pace
Day 11-12: Krabi to Railay Beach
Board a flight to Krabi. On arrival, we'll travel to Railay Beach. The next day, explore the area by boat.
Day 13-15: Koh Phi Phi
Get to know Koh Phi Phi with a boat tour, visit Maya Bay, watch the sunset, and experience the lively nightlife.
Important note: The authorities in Thailand may be restricting access to Maya Bay between June and October 2018. During these times, the included boat trip will take you to some other idyllic islands and bays in the area where you will also be able to swim and snorkel.
Day 16-20: Koh Pha Ngan
Next stop is Thailand’s party isle! Chill out and explore the amazing beaches and party until dawn at one of the island’s famous moon parties.
Day 21-23: Koh Samui
Take part in a fantastic dam building project to help with the island's water system. The rest of your time is your own.
Day 24: Ang Thong Marine Park
Set sail for Ang Thong Marine Park and tour some of the 42 tropical isles in the archipelago.
Day 25-28: Koh Tao
Take time to chill out in paradise. On day 27 we'll head out on a boat tour to visit Koh Ngan Yuan, with some snorkelling and kayaking in between.
Day 29: Goodbye Thailand
Your trip finishes in Koh Tao today and you are free to depart at any time. Your guide can help you make travel arrangements.
Thailand to Australia
Fly from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) to Sydney International Airport (SYD) to arrive in time for the first day of your Paid Work in Australia programme.
Paid Work in Australia (Up to 12 months)
Day 1: Arrive in Sydney
Meet the team and get settled in at the hostel.
Day 2: Orientation & jet boating
Go on a city orientation before heading to the harbour for a fun jet boating experience.
Day 3: Sydney Harbour
Get help and advice from our expert jobs team. Enjoy a private cruise around Sydney Harbour this afternoon.
Day 4: Bondi Beach
Visit Bondi Beach and go on a coastal walk to Coogee before tucking into an Aussie beach BBQ!
Day 5: Port Stephens
Head out of Sydney and up to Port Stephens and enjoy a surfing lesson on the way, in the evening enjoy a proper Aussie BBQ and chill out around a bonfire on the beach!
Day 6: Fun in the sun
Feed wild kangaroos, go sand boarding down some huge dunes, and sail beside dolphins.
Day 7: Setting up home
Back in Sydney, decide what you're doing about accommodation and get lots of help and advice from our team who will help you make your arrangements.
Day 8: Seminar
Enjoy an informative seminar on working in Oz, sign up to the jobs board, get all the information and advice you need and go for a farewell group meal at a Sydney’s highest revolving restaurant.
Day 9: Onwards and upwards
Head off on your travels, move on to your house share or other accommodation with a bunch of new friends.
Our team will be on hand to help you with your CV, job applications and interviews, getting around Oz and settling into your new role. You’ll receive 12 months of job support and assistance from our local team along with 12 month Oz Jobs membership; so you will be fully equipped with all the help and support you need to work and travel in Australia! If you're not looking to take on paid work in Oz, then you can participate in the fun-filled week in Sydney and then head straight on to your next destination.
Australia to New Zealand
Fly from Australia to Auckland Airport (AKL) to arrive the day before the first day of your itinerary.
New Zealand Travel Pass (up to 12 months)
If you don't have a year to spend in New Zealand, you can use your pass as a one-time journey, which can be done in 28 days, although if you have any flexibility, we'd recommend giving yourself at least 31 days. The following itinerary is an example of how a 28-day tour would work. The pass is valid for 12 months though.
Day 1: Auckland to Paihia
Head from Auckland to Paihia, stopping off at Parry Kauri Forest Park on route to see the Kauri trees.
Day 2: Paihia to Cape Regina
Travel along 90-mile Beach to Cape Reinga, stopping off at Te Paki Stream to go sand surfing!
Day 3: Paihai to Auckland
Enjoy some free time this morning before heading back to Auckland.
Day 4: Auckland to Hahei
Head to the picturesque coastal town of Hahei and bathe in the warm waters at Hot Water Beach.
Day 5: Hahei
Enjoy some free time in Hahei today.
Day 6: Hahei to Raglan
Travel through Waikato to Raglan and walk through the bush to Bridal Veil Falls on route.
Day 7: Raglan to Rotorua
On our way to Rotorua, we'll stop off at Waitomo for an opportunity to go caving.
Day 8: Rotorua to Lake Aniwhenua
Enjoy a free morning in Rotorua before making the journey to Lake Aniwhenua.
Day 9: Lake Aniwhenua to Blue Duck Station
Visit a local school and help hand out packed lunches to the children. Later, enjoy learning about life at Blue Duck Station.
Day 10: Blue Duck Station
Spend the day exploring your beautiful surroundings and trying out a multitude of optional activities.
Day 11: Blue Duck Station to Raetihi
Travel to Tongariro National Park and go on an optional hike.
Day 12: Raetihi to Wellington
Check out Oriental Parade, visit Te Papa National Museum, or head to Mt Victoria.
Day 13: Wellington to Abel Tasman National Park
Cross the Cook Strait to South Island and head to Abel Tasman National Park.
Day 14: Abel Tasman National Park
Explore the national park on foot or by air or choose from a variety of boat excursions.
Day 15: Abel Tasman National Park to Westport
Head to New Zealand's rugged shoreline to walk the cliffs and spot the local wildlife.
Day 16: Westport to Franz Josef
Travel to Hokitika and take a scenic walk along the beach before arriving at Franz Josef.
Day 17: Franz Josef
Spend a free day in Franz Josef and take a trip to the mighty Franz Josef Glacier.
Day 18: Franz Josef to Wanaka
Take a walk around Lake Matheson, then travel through the mountains to Wanaka.
Day 19: Wanaka to Queenstown
Try out some optional activities before making the journey to Queenstown.
Day 20: Queenstown
Try as many different activities as you can today – you're in the adventure capital of New Zealand!
Day 21: Queenstown to Gunn’s Camp
Travel across Milford Sound on to Hollyford Valley and pitch up in peaceful Gunn's Camp.
Day 22: Gunn’s Camp to Invercargill/Stewart Island
Visit the Viewing Gantry for spectacular views. This afternoon, we'll travel to Invercargill.
Day 23: Invercargill/Stewart Island to Queenstown
Go on an optional excursion to Waipapa Point, Curio Bay, and Porpoise Bay before returning to Queenstown.
Day 24: Queenstown to Aoraki/Mt Cook
Travel to the base of Mt Cook. Take the opportunity to go on a 4WD Argo tour and visit the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre.
Day 25: Mt Cook to Christchurch
Visit Lake Tekapo to see the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd today on the way to Christchurch.
Day 26: Christchurch to Kaikoura
Head up the coast to beautiful Kaikoura. You'll have the afternoon to yourself to explore.
Day 27: Kaikoura to Wellington
Drive along the winding coastal roads to Picton and board the ferry back to Wellington.
Day 28: Wellington to Auckland
Head out for a final dinner and drinks with the rest of the group before leaving New Zealand.
New Zealand to Fiji
Fly from Auckland Airport (AKL) to Nadi International Airport (NAN) to arrive in time for the first day of your itinerary.
Fiji Island Escape (8 days)
Day 1: Nadi
Chill out by the pool before meeting the rest of the crew at tonight's welcome dinner.
Day 2: Vatulele & Yanuca Islands
Explore nearby islands, Vatulele and Yanuca, enjoy a beach barbecue, and take part in a sunset yoga session.
Day 3: Surfing & Navola Falls
Take a surf lesson this morning before trekking through the jungle to Navola Falls.
Day 4: Yasawa Islands
Sail to the remote volcanic islands of Yasawa and enjoy some beach activities this afternoon.
Day 5: Limestone Caves & Local Village
Visit incredible natural limestone caves before visiting a local village to learn about the local culture.
Day 6: Mantaray Island
Snorkel with the abundant marine life at Mantaray Island. Afterwards, lounge and relax.
Day 7: Sunset Boat Trip & Beach Party
Enjoy a sunset boat trip before sitting down for a farewell meal back on dry land.
Day 8: Farewell
It's time to part company and make your way over to the USA. You'll need to catch a boat back to Nadi, which the team will help you with.
Fiji to the USA
Fly from Nadi International Airport (NAN) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to arrive the day before the first day of your next trip.
USA Western Wonder (7 days)
Day 1: On the road
Get a few snaps in Hollywood and then head to Laughlin, stopping off for a swim in Colarado River first.
Day 2: The Grand Canyon
Make the journey to Kaibab National Forest and up to the Grand Canyon for some incredible views.
Day 3-4: Las Vegas
After the Canyon and Route 66, we head into Vegas and cruise the Strip in a super stretch limo.
Day 5-6: Yosemite National Park
Travel into the Sierra Nevada Mountains and explore stunning Yosemite. Hike the trail to El Capitan, swim under waterfalls, or tour the national park by mountain bike.
Day 7: San Francisco
Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge or take a cable car ride to really see the city. The tour ends at 5pm, at which point you're free to head home – it's been epic!

Accommodation & Meals
Accommodation for the duration of your itinerary is included as part of this trip. You’ll be staying in hotels, hostels or camping accommodation on a multi share basis. Your accommodation will be on a single sex basis, and please let us know if you are travelling with a friend or partner. Some meals are included as part of this trip, and where meals are not provided you’ll be able to try out some delicious local cuisine!
Please note: On the Fiji Island Escape, there is a compulsory daily meal package at the Yasaway and Mantaray island resorts. This is not included in the trip cost. The meal plan on the Yasaway Islands costs FJD109 per day and on Mantaray Island the daily meal plan costs FJD99 per day. These local payments cover breakfasts, lunches and dinners at the resorts.

This Round the World route will take you from Bangkok – Sydney – Auckland – Nadi – Los Angeles – San Francisco. Flights are not included as part of this trip, but we have a brilliant flights team on hand, dedicated to getting you the best deal.

Eligibility & FAQ's
The minimum age for this trip is 18 years. To be eligible for an Australian Working Holiday Visa, you must be aged between 18-30 years.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the relevant visas for your travels. For most destinations, your passport will need to be valid for at least 6 months following your stay in that country.
British passport holders can enter Thailand for 30 days with no visa, if you plan to stay for longer you will need to obtain a 60-day visa prior to departure.
All visitors to Australia (except New Zealand residents) will require a visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to enter: these must be obtained before departing. If you're planning on taking paid work whilst in Australia you'll need a Working Holiday Visa. Both types of visa can be applied for online.
British passport holders can enter New Zealand without a visa, staying as a visitor for up to six months.
British passport holders can enter Fiji for up to four months without a visa. You might need to provide proof of return or onward travel.
British Nationals visiting the USA will be able to travel (for tourism purposes) under the US Visa Waiver Programme for up to 90 days. If you intend to stay for longer than this, plan to work, have ever been arrested or hold any criminal convictions, you will need to apply for a visa. American immigration procedures can be a little confusing, so for full and further details please either call us, or contact the US Embassy.
What Visas Will I Need For This Trip?
For Thailand, New Zealand, Fiji and the USA, you'll just need a standard tourist visa or equivalent. However for your time in Australia on Oz Intro Paid Work, you'll need an Australian Working Holiday Visa, we can assist you with this and add it to your booking for an additional cost, contact us for further details. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you have the relevant visas for your time away.
How Long Does The Classic Round The World Last?
Most people spend up to a maximum of 1 year on this trip as flight tickets are valid for up to 12 months. If you don't wish to spend a full year away, that's fine too!
Do I Have To Do This Trip In The Order Listed?
No, it's completely up to you how you do this trip– you could do it in reverse, mix up the order, add other trips, or take out trips you're not as interested in. Our Round the World trips are fully customisable so can pick and choose your favourite trips and destinations and we’ll put them together to create your dream trip!
Do I Have To Do All Of The Stops And Activities On The Travel Pass Routes?
Not if you don’t want to! These trips are all about flexibility, so if there’s anywhere you don’t really fancy going to or an activity you’d rather skip, that’s fine – just book onto the bits you do want to do.
What's The Average Age Range Of People On These Trips?
It's difficult to put an average age on so many different trips and you're likely to meet travellers of all ages. You might have a mix of people your own age or some much older or younger than you. Generally, you'll find a huge age range of people on bus passes and flexible hop-on hop-off trips, but travellers between the ages of 18-30 on the other trips.
I'm Planning To Travel On My Own, Will I Be Okay?
Of course! Most of our travellers go on our trips alone, so you’ll meet plenty of others in the same situation, and likely be firm friends by the end of your first day. In most instances, you'll have an experienced tour guide with you, and you'll always have our 24-hour emergency support if you need any assistance during your travels.
What Happens After The First Week On The Paid Work In Australia Part Of The Trip?
The local team in the Sydney office will give you loads of advice to help you find a job, information on how to rent a flat/house and will be there to assist you. Don't forget that included in your package you'll receive 12 months' Oz Jobs membership.
How Long Will I Be Away For On This Trip?
Most people spend up to a year on this trip as flight tickets are valid for up to 12 months. Although if you don't want to spend a full year away, that's fine – you can do the entire trip in around three to four months.
