Day 1-3: Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand!

Our friendly team will collect you from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) to take you to your accommodation in the heart of the city. Once you’ve got settled in, you’ll meet your guide and the others in the group. The next day you’ll get a full tour of Bangkok, starting with a canal cruise through the city, followed by a visit to the Temple of the Dawn and Wat Pho. In the afternoon you'll have the opportunity to take a walk through the beautiful Grand Palace and surrounding gardens (please note the entrance fee to the Grand Palace isn’t included in the price of your trip – this costs roughly 500THB/£12). On day three we’ll go on a bicycle tour of Bangkok's highlights, so make sure you bring your camera with you!

Day 4-5: Get to know Sangkhlaburi

We’ll make our way to the picturesque town of Sangkhlaburi – a gorgeous rural idyll. Once we’ve checked into our accommodation you’re free to go and explore the area. On day five, we’ll make our way to the Three Pagodas Pass, on the Burma/Thailand border for a tour of the area and to learn about some of the local history and try out some delicious food. As the sun begins to set, take a dip in the lake for the best views - magical.

Day 6-7: Project volunteer days

Over the next couple of days you'll get to help make improvements to a town or village that will have a huge impact on the community. You'll work from 8am to 3pm for two days as a project volunteer helping to construct and renovate buildings - from schools to community kitchens. It's a really rewarding programme, and you'll get to talk to the local residents about their lives and find out more about the ongoing work in the community.

Day 8-10: Trekking and rafting

We'll spend two days going on a tropical trek through Sangkhlaburi's exquisite terrain, through caves and forests, with an expert ranger as the group treads its way to a friendly local village where we'll stay the night at the headman's house. Once we've had our fill of exploration, we'll head back to Sangkhlaburi to put our feet up before then enjoying a day of rafting in traditional bamboo rafts along the river through forests and jungle.

Day 11: Free time in Sangkhlaburi

Your time is your own today, so spend a bit of time planning what you want to do over breakfast, then get out there and have some fun! You might fancy taking a trip to the Nature Club Resort and trying out some pulse-raising activities, like zip-lining or quad biking, taking Thai language lessons, head to Saphan Mon, Sangkhlaburi’s iconic wooden bridge, go on a traditional cookery class, or visit the striking temple of Wat Wang Wiwekaram.

Day 12: Welcome to Kanchanaburi

Famed for its tales of Bridge over the River Kwai and Death Railway during WWII, Kanchanaburi holds plenty of historic relevance and is a fascinating place to explore. Once we arrive, it’s straight to the hotel for some rest and relaxation by the pool before enjoying a special dinner on rafts by the river.

Day 13: Erawan National Park

We'll spend the day exploring the astoundingly beautiful Erawan National Park. From bright blue lagoons and lush green vegetation, to hidden caves and forests dense with wildlife, you'll discover it all, and round your trip off with a dip in the waters beneath Erawan Falls.

Day 14-16: Kanchanaburi

With some free time in Kanchanaburi, you might fancy going on an excursion to the local elephant sanctuary, or you might prefer to go and see Wat Tham Sua (also known as Tiger Cave Temple), one of the most sacred sites in the region. On day 15, you'll get to practice the art of meditation and take part in a traditional Thai cooking class before finishing your day with a party in town. On day 16 we'll make the journey back to Bangkok.

Day 17: Depart or travel on

If you've opted for the 17-day trip, you'll be leaving the group today. Make sure you checkout of your accommodation by 11am, but otherwise depart at any time as there are no planned activities.

If you've opted for the 29-day trip, you'll have a full day in Bangkok to spend as you like. In the evening we'll catch our overnight transfer to beautiful Koh Tao.

Day 18-21: Koh Tao

Get settled into your home for the few days and take a look around the island, soak up some sunshine, or swim in the crystal clear sea. The nightlife on Koh Tao is epic, so enjoy some time partying in the evenings, and take advantage of the laidback atmosphere during the day. You'll also get to go on a snorkelling trip on day 20, where you'll take to the waters to get up close and personal with the colourful marine life (weather permitting).

Day 22-25: Koh Pha Ngan

Arriving on Koh Pha Ngan by mid-afternoon, you'll have plenty of time to hang out by the pool and enjoy a few drinks whilst watching the sunset. Over the next few days you could go surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, paddle boarding or kayaking, or simply chill out in town before getting ready to dance the night away at a world-famous full or black moon party on the beach with thousands of other day-glo dancers – an immense experience. You'll also go on an island tour of Bottle Beach, Haad Salad, and Koh Ma.

Day 26-28: Koh Phi Phi

Possibly Thailand's most breathtaking island, Koh Phi Phi is renowned for its large limestone karsts, hidden bays, and bright white sands. Enjoy plenty of rest and relaxation during your time here – you can take an optional island excursion to Maya Bay, set location for the film The Beach, but otherwise simply enjoy your time on an island idyll.

Day 29: Farewell

There are no planned activities for the last day of our trip, so checkout of the guesthouse by 11am and make tracks back to the mainland. If you need any help with travel arrangements, your tour guide will be on hand to help out.

This trip finishes in Koh Phi Phi and transfers back to Bangkok are not included in the programme, however your local guide will be able to help you arrange transport back to Bangkok if required. The easiest option is to take a short ferry journey from Koh Phi Phi to Phuket and catch a flight from there, alternatively it is also possible to travel overland by ferry and bus. It is essential that you allow plenty of time to make your journey and we recommend arranging any onward travel for the day after your programme end date, you local guide can assist in arranging extra accommodation for you.

Please note activities and itineraries are subject to change.

*We aim for all trips to coincide with a full or black moon party, which means, in some instances, that the order of visits to Koh Tao and Koh Pha Ngan could be reversed to accommodate this. Please be aware that in rare cases there may be unforeseen circumstances outside of our control that result in moon parties not going ahead.

Accommodation & Meals

You’ll stay in a variety of different types of accommodation throughout your trip, each having been selected with location, comfort, and safety in mind. The majority of the places you stay in will be based on two to four people in the group sharing a room – you will always share with travellers of the same sex, but if you are travelling with a friend or partner let us know when you book so we can make sure you’re in a room together.

Most meals aren’t included on this trip, which offers you a fantastic opportunity to sample a range of Thailand’s delicious food. You won’t be short of places to choose from and your guide will always be able to suggest different places to eat – be adventurous and try out some of the local dishes. Do let us know if you have any dietary requirements when you book, and let your tour guide know if there’s anything specific you can’t eat while you’re in Thailand.

Thailand flights

Your flight to Thailand should arrive at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) on your programme start date.

To receive the included transfer from Bangkok airport to your accommodation your flight will need to arrive between 6am and 8pm on the programme start date.

The 17-day trip finishes in Bangkok on your programme end date (day 17), no activities are planned for this day and you are free to depart at any time, a return transfer is not included but it is very easy to arrange this locally.

The 29-day trip finished on Koh Phi Phi on your programme end date (day 29). No activities are planned for this day and you are free to depart at any time. There are two options for returning to Bangkok.

1) Book an all-inclusive travel ticket from the Koh Phi Phi Pier to Bangkok Don Muang Airport with a local airline such as AirAsia or NokAir. The ticket includes a ferry and flight to Don Muang Airport with guidance throughout. On arrival in Bangkok you will then need to make your way to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport by taking a taxi or bus.

2) Take a short ferry crossing to Phuket or Krabi and fly home from either Phuket or Krabi Airport. Ferries depart from Koh Phi Phi regularly throughout the day so you can depart at a time that suits you. If you choose this option we strongly recommend that you arrange your flight our of Phuket or Krabi for the following day in case of poor weather and ferry delays.

To arrange your flights, contact our fantastic flights team on 01892 277037 or email them at [email protected] They will be able to search for the best flight offers to your chosen destinations, so you can plan and organise your trip in one place. Just make sure you give them your full name, as stated in your passport, along with your chosen departure dates, return dates, and any other details you want to include.

It is important that once you have booked your flights you add these details to your online account or alternatively you can contact us with your departure date, the flight number and arrival time at your destination.

Eligibility & FAQ's

The minimum age for this trip is 18 years.

British passport holders arriving by air can enter Thailand for 30 days without a visa. Please ensure your passport is valid, with six months remaining on the date of your planned return, and that you hold a valid return flight ticket. If you plan to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days you will need to apply for a visa before departing the UK, which will be issued as a 60-day tourist visa, so long as you’re not planning on taking paid work during your stay.

Are Airport Transfers Included On This Trip?

Your airport transfer is included on arrival provided your flight arrives between 6am and 8pm on your programme start date. Your guide will meet you at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK), but you’ll need to arrange your own transfer back to the airport from the hostel in Bangkok or Koh Phi Phi, depending on whether or not you're on the extended trip option. The staff at the hostel or your tour guide can help you book transport back to the airport.

How Do I Extend My Visa If I Want To Stay In Thailand For A Longer Period?

You can apply for a 60 day visa if you’re planning on staying in Thailand for longer than one month, but you’ll need to obtain this before you travel to Thailand. You can apply by post or in person for around £28.

How Much Money Should I Bring With Me?

Whilst it's easy enough to get by on £150 a week, we know that half the fun of your trip in Thailand is experiencing different things, trying all sorts of different food and enjoying the party atmosphere. There are also lots of activities on offer during your free days, so we'd recommend that as a minimum you bring between £600-£850, and if you're planning on doing lots of shopping, partying and extra activities then perhaps budget a bit more.

I’m Travelling With A Friend, Can We Stay Together?

Yes! Let us know when you book and we’ll make sure you both get to stay in the same rooms.

What Shoes Do I Need For The Jungle Trek?

Some walking shoes/boots or sturdy trainers will be absolutely fine.

Do I Need To Bring A Sleeping Bag With Me?

All bedding is provided so there’s no need to bring a sleeping bag with you for this trip.

Will There Be A Safe Or Safety Deposit Box Available?

Yes, there will be somewhere safe for you to keep your valuables at each location.
