Trip Info

Day 1: Athens, Greece

Meet the crew and dump your gear. Get the lowdown at a welcome meeting before hitting the Old Town streets of Plaka and Monastiraki. Tonight’s all about making besties between dance moves #dropitlikeitshot.

Included today:
-Welcome meeting

Optional activities:
-Night out with the group

Did you know:
-Home of the first Olympic Games, Athens has seen many naked people, as the first Olympians competed in the nude to appreciate and celebrate the male figure as a tribute to the gods.

-Athens is believed to have seen every form of government from democracy to communism and is one of the oldest cities in the world.

Day 2: Athens

Orient yourself on this morning's walking tour and tick off the Greek Parliament and Syntagma Square. Then: drop your jaw at the Acropolis. Hop on an optional trip to Cape Sounion, the southernmost point in Greece. Cue coastal views of the Saronic Gulf and ancient columns for a different kind of #throwback. More of an urbanite? Take the rest of the day to get lost, you're free until dinner. Tonight: Greek grub and live entertainment at a traditional taverna.

Included today:
-Athens walking tour
-Dinner at a local restaurant

Meals: Breakfast, dinner.

Optional activities:
-Cape Sounion visit

Did you know:
-In Ancient Greece, the only men considered to be great leaders were those with potbellies.

-Some of the entrants at the first modern Olympic games in 1896 were tourists who happened to be in Athens at the time. Talk about right place right time.

-Greek mythology says the goddess Atalanta versed all her suitors and won every race, lest she have to marry them. #womendoitbetter

Day 3:Athens to Mykonos

Travel Day: Athens to Mykonos.

Rise and shine. We're off to Mykonos. Ferry the seas and drop your bags upon arrival. Walk off your sealegs on a tour of the town. Then: doll up and hit the streets to discover why this island is nicknamed the Ibiza of Greece.

Included today:
-Ferry ride to Mykonos
-Mykonos town walking tour

Meals: Breakfast.

Did you know:
-In the 1950s, about 30% of the Greek population would have been able to read this. The literacy rate is now at more than 95%.

-It is very common for Greeks to celebrate the "name day" of the saint that bears their name rather than their birthday.

Day 4: Mykonos

Delos Island in the AM to check out the birthplace of Apollo aka the sun god (optional) or sleep in and worship the rays on your own time. Tonight? Hit the streets to dance off that heat haze.

Meals: Breakfast.

Optional activities:
-Day trip to Delos Island

Did you know:

-A museum in a windmill. Only in Mykonos.

Day 5: Mykonos to Paros
Travel Day: Mykonos to Paros.

More chalky villages, skyblue churches and laze-worthy beaches on the horizon. Paros next. Get your bearings on a walking tour before cutting loose to explore. Pro tip: grub it up in Parikia Town for the best restaurants and bars.

Included today:
-Ferry to Paros
-Walking tour of Parikia

Meals: Breakfast.

Did you know:
-With more than 16.5 millions tourists visiting the country each year, there are more than 15 international airports in Greece.

-Greece has more than 2000 islands but less than 10% are populated.

Day 6: Paros

Another free day for the win. Alternate between ocean dips and naps on the beach or take off on an optional tour of the island. You'll see the church of Ekatontapyliani, the Naoussa fishing village and the famous Kolymbithres beach for lunch and a swim. Hungry for more? Byzantine footpaths connect old school villages through Instagram-able landscapes. Your feed will be all #nofilter.

Included today:
-Free day

Meals: Breakfast.

Optional activities:
-Island tour to visit Ekatontapyliani, Naoussa and Kolymbithres.

Did you know:
-Charlton Heston's name is referenced as Charlton Easton in Greece, as Heston has excremental associations in Greek. Unfortunate.

Day 7: Paros to Santorini

Travel Day: Paros to Santorini.

Back on the ferry and on to Santorini. Cue romcom worthy landscapes (it's a honeymoon hotspot for a reason). Get oriented on a walking tour of Fira town before witnessing the epic sunset on an optional visit to car-free Oia. After dark, hit the local taverns to mingle with the locals.

Included today:
-Ferry to Santorini
-Fira town walking tour

-Throwing an apple at someone in Ancient Greece was basically a proposal of marriage.

Day 8: Santorini
Sail out to the island's volcano for an optional hike up King George to Instagram the active crater. Bonus: natural hot springs and mud masks before a donkey carries you up the 586 steps from the old port to Fira. Nap time or free time - you decide whether they're one and the same.

Included today:
-Farewell dinner in local restaurant

Meals: Breakfast, dinner.

Optional activities:
-Volcano excursion

Did you know:
-Santorini has a twin in Tunisia called Sidi Bou Said, where every building is white and blue since the 1920s.

Day 9: Santorini to Athens

Travel Day: Santorini to Athens.

Whip out your camera and snap one last shot of the postcard-worthy scenery on your last free morning in Fira. We're catching the ferry back to Athens for a final dose of ancient architecture and tragic myths. Oh yeah, and a night out with your new friends.

Included today:
-Ferry to Athens

Meals: Breakfast.

Did you know:
-Greek deities have inspired many artists as well as contemporary trends and brands. Nike shoes anyone? Nike was the goddess of victory. The famous logo, the "swoosh", is said to have been inspired by the Winged Victory of Samothrace statue. Just do it.

-Ladies of the night in Ancient Greece used to inscribe "follow me" on the soles of their shoes in the hopes of wooing potential customers. Now that's advertising to your market.

Day 10: Athens

Should you stay or should you go? Your call. We’re outta here after breakfast.

Meals: Breakfast.

Accommodation & Meals

We endeavour to select a combination of good quality hotels that reflect the character of the local area as well as being as centrally located as possible, all the while striving to keep the cost affordable.

Your trip will stay in a range of European hotels of three and four-star quality.

Please be aware that European hotel rooms, especially those in major urban centres or older cities, may be smaller than what you are used to in other parts of the world. Standards and ratings may also be different to your home country.

Rooms are en-suite and either twin- or triple-share, depending on what you have booked. If you are a solo traveller, you will always be sharing a room with someone of the same sex.

Breakfasts are included every day in the hotel (except on the first morning). They are usually 'continental breakfasts', which are typical in most European countries. A typical breakfast may consist of cereals with milk or yoghurt, bread, croissants, cold meats, cheese and a range of spreads, with fruit juice, tea or coffee to drink. It is rare to get a hot breakfast in continental Europe, though on some occasions there may be some hot food available as well.

Included evening meals are in local restaurants or accommodation places, and are either two or three courses. In most cases table water is provided with the meals, and if you wish to purchase additional drinks you can do so at your own expense.
