This once in a lifetime independent adventure will give you a real rush! You’ll be travelling through Brazil, exploring what the Pantanal has to offer, and getting a jolt of adrenaline in Bonito! You’ll also be heading to Foz do Iguacu to check out both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of the legendary, awe-inspiring Iguassu Falls!
Swim and snorkel in the hub of natural wonder that is Bonito, and look into the Devil’s Throat as you discover the magical Iguassu Falls! This is an independent tour, meaning that you’ll have the freedom to explore at your own pace, and we’ve made it as easy as possible with your accommodation and in country transfers included, as well as some unmissable activities! Day 1: Campo Grande to the Pantanal
Please arrive the day before your trip starts.
Day one you’ll board a bus from Campo Grande to the Pantanal, where you’ll hop into a 4x4 vehicle and transferred to your cosy lodge accommodation. Meet the staff and get settled in – they’ll be able to give you some tips about what to get up to over the next few days and answer any questions you may have about the area!
Days 2-3: Fun in the Pantanal!
Today you’ll be experiencing the very best of what the Pantanal has to offer! After breakfast, head out to the river for the chance to go boating and fish for piranha! You’ll be able to go on a tour with an English speaking guide and spot some alligators, or go on a jeep safari or horseback riding for a burst of adventure! You’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with nature, too – this region is famed for its extensive wildlife population, and you may be able to spot armadillos, jaguars, capybaras and a range of fascinating birds!
Day 4: Pantanal to Bonito
Today you’ll be leaving Pantanal and heading to Bonito! Bonito is a dream-worthy draw for nature and adventure lovers – home to waterfalls, beautiful rivers and stunning natural caves. This is a swimming and snorkelling hotspot, and you’ll be awed by the majestic natural scenery as soon as you arrive! Head to your accommodation to relax and recharge after your journey – you’ve got a free day to explore breath taking Bonito tomorrow!
Day 5: Discover Bonito
Today you have a free day to discover exactly what it is that makes Bonito such a hotspot! Perhaps don some snorkelling gear and take to the clear rivers to swim alongside the majestic marine life, or take a tour of the stunning patchwork of caves and grottos that lend the town it’s aura of mystery. Bonito also features lots of beautiful waterfalls, so you may want to visit some and take some beautiful snapshots or simply sit back, relax and listen to the rush of the falls. You’ll be able to hire a bike if you want to explore the terrain in style, or even get the adrenaline going with a paddle-boarding adventure! Whatever you do, it’s bound to be a fun-filled day in Bonito!
Day 6: Bonito to Foz du Iguacu
It’s time to start our journey to the epic Iguassu Falls! Bid farewell to Bonito and make your way to the bus terminal, where you’ll board the 14:30 bus to Dourados before hopping onto the night bus bound for Cascavel. You’ll be able to rest during the journey and grab a snack between buses. The mighty Falls await you tomorrow!
Day 7: Iguassu Falls Excursion!
You’ll arrive in Cascavel this morning and board the bus to Foz do Iguacu town, arriving at around 12:00. You’ll be met by one of our friendly representatives and taken to your accommodation where you can relax after your journey and grab a tasty lunch. This afternoon you’ll be visiting the immense Iguassu Falls! You’ll be picked up from your accommodation and dropped off at the Visitor Centre ready to begin your exploration of the legendary Falls. Discover different walkways and experience the Falls from a range of different viewpoints. Iguassu consists of over 250 falls – there’s so much to see!
You also have the option to visit the bird park today, where you’ll have the chance to spot over 160 species of colourful birds, or opt to join the Macuco Safari and enjoy the Iguassu National Park on a guided tour. After your day of getting to grips with Brazil’s natural wonders, you’ll meet the minibus back at the Visitor Centre and be transferred to your accommodation.
Day 8: Argentinian Side Day Trip
You’ve explored the Brazilian side of the Falls, now it’s time to be awed by the Argentinian side! Both sides offer a totally different and eye-opening experience, and you’ll have a full day to explore the Argentinian side today. You and your guide will walk around the Circuito Inferior and across several bridges that allow you to get an up close look at the Falls. Board the train to visit the Devil’s Throat and experience the thrill of looking down at the crashing, 90 meter high falls!
On your way back to Foz do Iguacu town you may be able to stop at the 3 frontiers point (time permitting!) and see where Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil meet! You’ll then be transferred back to your accommodation to get some rest and think back over your epic Iguassu Falls experience!
Day 9: Departure
Your itinerary ends today, and you’ll be picked up from your accommodation and transferred to the bus station or airport in Foz do Iguacu town to make your way home or continue on with your travels! It’s been an intriguing adventure and we hope to see you for your next amazing trip!

All accommodation during this trip is included and will be on a dorm room basis, with 3 nights in Pantanal, 2 nights in Bonito and 2 nights in Foz do Iguacu. This trip includes 7 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners. During times when meals are not included, you’ll have the chance to sample some of Brazil’s lovely cuisine. - Barreado - meats and spices cooked in a clay pot for 24 hours and served with banana and farofa
- Carangueijada - cooked crab, whole
- Caruru - food brought from Africa to Brazil, made with ladies fingers (okra), onions, shrimp, peppers and oil

Please arrange to arrive in Camp Grande the day before your programme start date, you may opt to fly into Campo Grande International Airport or make your way to Campo Grande by bus. Your trip begins in Campo Grande on Day 1 of your itinerary, so you may opt to book flights that arrive into Campo Grande International Airport, alternatively make your was by bus. Your trip ends on Day 9 of your itinerary, when you will be transferred to Foz do Iguacu Airport or bus station to continue your onward travel or return home.
