2019 Itinerary

Thailand Island Hopping 2018

Choose from 2 amazing options:

Option 1: 10 days
Option 2: 15 days

Day 1: Arrival

Welcome to Thailand! You’ll be met at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport by our friendly team, who will take you to your accommodation near the world-famous Khao San Road. In the evening you'll head out with the rest of the group to party the night away in some of Bangkok's coolest bars.

Day 2: Bangkok

Today's your chance to see some of Bangkok's highlights by canal as we cruise through the communities and pass stunning ancient temples by long-tail boat. We’ll visit Wat Arun and then spend time at Wat Pho – home of the famous golden reclining Buddha. Later on, we’ll take a tour of the majestic Grand Palace (please note the entrance fee to the Grand Palace isn’t included in the price of your trip – this costs roughly 500THB/£12). Then we’ll head back to our guesthouse to freshen up before taking the three-hour journey to Kanchanaburi.

Day 3: Kanchanaburi

After breakfast, we’ll make our way to an incredible elephant project; set within Kanchanaburi’s beautiful countryside. We’ll sit in on a session to learn more about the project’s work to promote elephant welfare before helping make up the elephant’s food and walking with them to the local river for a unique bathing experience. Later, we’ll head back to Bangkok.

Days 4 - 5: Railay Beach

We'll head off for the airport on day 4 and jump on an internal flight (included in the cost of your trip) down to Krabi. On arrival we'll take a short drive and jump on a boat to Railay Beach – an exquisite white sand resort surrounded by limestone cliffs. The next day we'll have fun exploring the area on an included boat trip, cruise the turquoise waters as we pass huge limestone crags and stop off at secluded sandy bays.

Days 6-7: Koh Phi Phi

Our next stop is the undisputedly beautiful island of Koh Phi Phi – the island location used in the film The Beach. We'll be spending the next couple of nights on Koh Phi Phi so, once we've checked in and got ourselves settled, take a look around and get to know the place. On day seven, we'll hit the waves with an island boat tour, sailing around all the nooks and crannies and close by islands. We'll stop off at a quiet spot for a bit of snorkelling before visiting the famous Maya Bay.

Important note: The authorities in Thailand may be restricting access to Maya Bay between June and October 2018. During these times, the included boat trip will take you to some other idyllic islands and bays in the area where you will also be able to swim and snorkel.

Days 8-9: Koh Pha Ngan

On day eight, we’ll catch a ferry, bus, followed by another ferry to Thailand’s party isle – Koh Pha Ngan. Known the world over for its epic moon parties, you can expect a lively atmosphere as we get geared up to dance beneath the stars. In the evening we'll paint on some day-glo body paint and party the night away with hundreds of others at Had Rin. Day nine is all yours to take in island life at your own pace – which might be rather slow following last night's antics! Chill out on the beach or by the pool, or if you have a little more energy go and explore.

Day 10: 10 day trip ends or continue on 15 day trip

For those of you booked onto the 10-day tour, you’ll say goodbye to your group head off today. A transfer to Bangkok is not included, so speak to your guide beforehand about your plans and they’ll help you make arrangements for onward travels.

If you’ve selected the 15-day option, you’ll have the morning to relax before boarding a boat to Koh Samui – a serene and tranquil setting even the most hungover travellers will appreciate! Lay back and chill on Chaweng Beach this afternoon, and recharge before heading out in the evening to mingle with the locals.

Day 11: Ang Thong Marine Park

Setting sail for Ang Thong Marine Park today, we'll tour some of the 42 tropical isles in this magnificent archipelago. You'll get the opportunity to lower yourself into the warm waters for a spot of snorkelling, kayaking, or just a splash about. In the evening it's party time again with a wild night planned at Koh Samui's liveliest beachside bar.

Days 12-14: Koh Tao

Arriving on the idyllic tropical island of Koh Tao, we’ll head straight to our resort to get settled in and beach-ready, as you’ll be taking it easy shore-side. Grab your swimming gear, take a dip in the bright blue waters, then chill under the palms with a cocktail or cold beer, or make use of the accommodation’s pool. If you’re feeling inquisitive, you could take a wander to explore the typically busy, but laidback streets in the town centre. On day thirteen we'll get to head out in the boat to visit the incredibly scenic Koh Ngan Yuan, with some snorkelling and kayaking in between.

You'll have the day to yourself on day fourteen, so while away your time with a front row seat to paradise, go and explore the rocky caves by kayak, or hike through the forested terrain for the best views of the surrounding islands.

Day 15: Departure

It’s very likely you won’t want to leave, but today we do have to part company as this fantastic tour comes to an end. Checking out of our accommodation at 11am, and having said your goodbyes, you’ll make your own way back to Bangkok from Koh Tao, which your guide will be more than happy to help you arrange.

Itineraries and activities are subject to change.

More

The minimum age for this trip is 18 years.

British passport holders arriving by air can enter Thailand for 30 days without a visa. Please ensure your passport is valid, with six months' validity remaining on the date of your planned return, and that you hold a valid return flight, or onward travel, ticket. If you plan to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days you will need to apply for a visa before departing the UK, which will be issued as a 60-day tourist visa so long as you’re not planning on taking paid work during your stay.

Do I Need Any Vaccinations?

We’re not qualified to offer you medical advice, so you should visit your GP well ahead of time to find out what inoculations you might need. Remember to tell them exactly where you’re travelling to as vaccination and medication requirements vary between different Indian regions. You’ll also need to make sure you have enough of any prescribed medication to see you through the duration of your trip.

How Much Spending Money Should I Bring With Me?

Food and drink is relatively cheap in Thailand, so budget around 40THB-200THB/£1-£5 for meals, and between 20THB-150THB/50p-£3.50 for drinks. You’ll want to make sure you have plenty of money for extra activities, such as kayaking, scuba diving, excursions, and entrance fees to tourist attractions, which can range anywhere from 500THB/£12 to 3500THB/£82 depending on what you want to do – it’s always best to look into costs before you travel. As a rough guide, 6500THB/£150 per week should allow you to do most things.

Do I Need To Bring A Mosquito Net?

You can do if you like as nets won’t be provided at most places we stay in. Although if you keep windows and doors closed in your room you shouldn’t be bothered by mosquitoes.
