Accommodation & Meals

You’ll stay in a variety of different types of accommodation throughout your trip, each having been selected with location, comfort, and safety in mind. Some of the places you still in will have air-conditioning and their own swimming pools, and others will be more basic. On a few of the trips you'll get to stay within the local community. Please note that you won't always have access to hot running water, electricity, or Wifi. The majority of the places you stay in will be based on two to four people in the group sharing a room – you will always share with travellers of the same sex, but if you are travelling with a friend or partner let us know when you book so we can make sure you’re in a room together.

Although you'll get to enjoy a few meals as part of your trip, including food made during cookery classes, the occasional beach barbecue, and a variety of breakfasts, a lot of meals won't be included on this trip, but that gives you a fantastic opportunity to sample a range of Asia’s delicious food. You won’t be short of places to choose from and your guides will always be able to suggest different places to eat – be adventurous and try out some of the local dishes. Do let us know if you have any dietary requirements when you book, and let your tour guide know if there’s anything specific you can’t eat while you’re in Asia.

Eligibility & FAQ's

The minimum age for this trip is 18.

Please ensure you obtain the correct visa for each country on this trip, see information below for rules of entry to each:

India: A visa is required for entry to India and must be obtained before you travel. You can apply for a tourist visa or an e-tourist visa via the Indian High Commission. Your passport will need to be machine readable, have two blank pages available for immigration stamps, and must have at least six months' validity remaining on entry to India.

Thailand: British passport holders arriving by air can enter Thailand for 30 days without a visa. Please ensure your passport is valid, with six months remaining on the date of your planned return, and that you hold a valid return flight ticket. If you plan to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days you will need to apply for a visa before departing the UK, which will be issued as a 60 day tourist visa so long as you’re not planning on taking paid work during your stay.

Cambodia: You can obtain a visa online before travelling to Cambodia or on arrival at the airport (where you will need to pay the 30USD fee). If you are planning on extending your stay it is your responsibility to ensure that you have a valid visa for the duration of your stay, or obtain any necessary visa extensions while you are in Cambodia.

Vietnam: Most UK citizens will qualify for an e-visa to enter Vietnam, which can be applied for online. You must have at least six months’ validity remaining on your passport from the date you plan to return home.

Please note Vietnamese visa rules are subject to change without prior notice, so please do check visa requirements at the time of your trip.

Bali: Nationals of the EU, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand don't require a visa to enter Bali, as long as you hold a valid passport (and a valid return ticket), you will be able to stay in Bali as a tourist for a period of up to 30 days. You should also ensure that your passport will still be in date for six months after your return.

I’m Travelling With A Friend, Can We Stay Together?

Yes! Let us know when you book and we’ll make sure you both get to stay in the same rooms.

Do I Need Any Vaccinations?

We’re not qualified to offer you medical advice, so you should visit your GP well ahead of time to find out what inoculations you might need. Remember to tell them exactly where you’re travelling to as vaccination and medication requirements vary between different countries and regions. You’ll also need to make sure you have enough of any prescribed medication to see you through the duration of your trip.

I’ve Chosen The Eight Day Option For The Bali Beaches Section Of This Trip – How Will I Get Back To The Airport?

If you’re booking the eight-day tour, your last day will be on Gili Trawangan island. From there you’ll need to get a ferry back to Bali, and then a taxi to take you to Denpasar airport. It’s an easy journey, but your tour guide will be able to help you with times and bookings.

Do I Need To Bring Bedding Or A Towel?

No need to bring bedding – it’s all provided at each accommodation. We do however recommend you bring at least one towel with you, but if you’re short on luggage space you can always buy towels locally.

Should I Pack A Mosquito Net?

You can do if you like, but it’s not necessary if you make sure the windows and doors to your rooms are kept shut. It’s worth bringing a decent mosquito repellent with you though!

How Much Spending Money Should I Bring With Me?

Whilst it's easy enough to get by on £150 a week, we know that half the fun of your trip will be experiencing different things, trying all sorts of different food and enjoying the party atmosphere. There are also lots of activities on offer during your free days, so we'd recommend that as a minimum you bring between £150-£200 per week, and if you're planning on doing lots of shopping, partying and extra activities then perhaps budget a bit more. It's well worth getting yourself a pre-loaded cash card and back-up credit card when you're travelling for lengthy periods of time - and avoid carrying too much cash around.
