Spend 63 days journeying through the USA on this epic group adventure! Travel from the east coast to the west and back again, taking in gorgeous National Parks, buzzing cities and iconic landmarks along the way. Check out the unique vibes of Orlando, Las Vegas and San Francisco, and discover the breath-taking beauty of Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. This tour even includes a week in Canada, taking in Vancouver, Lake Louise and Banff National Park! Day 1-2: New York Area – Washington, DC
Our road trip kicks off as we leave New York behind and journey south to Philadelphia. Check out the famous ‘Rocky’ steps and tuck into an iconic Philly cheesesteak. Other highlights include the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Next stop: the political hub of the USA, Washington DC. Check out the White House and the city’s awesome free museums. See the city on an included guided bike tour.
Day 3: North Carolina
Plunge further south into the swamps and palm trees of North Carolina. Settle down in camp and toast marshmallows over the crackling campfire. Tuck in and gaze up at the beautiful night skies.
Day 4: Charleston
Discover the southern charm of South Carolina’s oldest city today. Wander along the coast, check out the Morris Island Lighthouse or jump aboard an optional Charleston water taxi ride.
Day 5: St. Augustine
Check out the ‘Nation’s Oldest City’. Visit the many museums and famous landmarks.
Day 6-7: Miami.
Cruise down to the glamorous boulevards of Miami. Stretch out on the sands of South Beach and hit the vibrant nightlife.
Day 8-9: Key West
Discover the beach paradise of Key West. Try your hand at some optional water sports or soak up the buzzing vibes of the bars and cafes. Kick back for an awesome sunset this evening.
Day 10-11: Orlando
Orlando is all about theme parks! Check out Disney, Harry Potter world and many more adrenaline-pumping parks!
Day 12: Destin Beach
Fancy some relaxation time on perfect white sand beaches? Of course you do! Slip into the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico or laze on the beach.
Day 13-14: New Orleans
Roll into the jazz-soaked streets of New Orleans today. Enjoy some tradition southern cuisine, discover the Mississippi River by steamboat or party in Bourbon Street.
Day 15: Louisiana
Discover the swamps on an optional tour (extra cost). Cruise past ancient Indian burial mounds and keep an eye out for crocs! Enjoy another night of camping under the stars.
Day 16-17: Austin
Time for some musical heritage in Austin, the live music capital of the world! Take a tour, visit Barton Springs or catch some world-famous live music.
Day 18: West Texas
America’s second biggest state has bags of character. Wander among the cacti and cowboys in this atmospheric region.
Day 19: Carlsbad Caverns National Park
See soaring stalagmites and stalactites in these creepy caverns. In the evenings, the night air is swarming with bats! Well worth a look!
Day 20: Santa Fe
Time for some artsy atmospheres now as we roll into Santa Fe. Check out the local crafts sellers on Canyon Road and sample some Santa Fe nightlife this evening.
Day 21-22: Colorado Rockies
Venture into the mind-blowing natural scenery of the Colorado Rockies. Channel your inner adventurer and follow the hiking trails and mountain biking routes.
Day 23-24: Arches National Park – Moab
More adventure today as we hit Arches National Park. Try mountain biking and off-roading and drink in the weird and wonderful landscapes of Moab.
Day 25: Monument Valley
Into Western territory now, as we journey through the iconic landscapes of Monument Valley. Enjoy an optional 4x4 tour into the heart of the valley with a Navajo guide.
Day 26-27: Grand Canyon National Park
Here it is, the USA’s most famous natural wonder. Gaze out across this incredible canyon and delve into the depths on the fantastic hiking trails.
Day 28: Antelope Canyon – Lake Powell
We’ll stop off at Horseshoe Bend, a breath-taking viewpoint that overlooks the Colorado River. We’ll then journey on to Antelope Canyon and wander its enchantingly textured passageways. Finally, we’ll arrive on the shores of Lake Powell for a cooling swim.
Day 29: Bryce Canyon National Park
Discover the weird and wonderful hoodoos of Bryce Canyon! Hoodoos are bizarre rock spires that have formed over the centuries and make for a fantastic photo opportunity!
Day 30: Zion National Park
Next up: the red rocks of Zion National Park. Trek to Angels Landing for a spectacular 360-degree view of the park.
Day 31-32: Las Vegas
Enjoy two nights in the electric streets of Vegas. Enjoy an included limo ride down the main strip! Take in a show, try your luck on the roulette tables and gorge yourself at an all you can eat buffet!
Day 33-34: Los Angeles
Arrive at the West Coast and explore the star-studded streets of L.A. Grab a selfie next to the Hollywood sign and stroll along Venice Beach.
Day 35: Santa Barbara – California Coast
Follow the coast north to Santa Barbara and bask in the glorious surroundings: mountains, valleys, beaches and sparkling blue seas.
Day 36-37: Yosemite National Park
Arguably one of America’s most beautiful national parks, Yosemite (pronounced Yo-sem-it-ee) has marvellous mountains, plummeting waterfalls and gentle rivers. Soak it all in. You won’t forget this incredible area in a hurry.
Day 38-39: San Francisco
Keep an eye out for the iconic red arches of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Enjoy an included tour of the bridge, plus free time to explore the city’s friendly and diverse neighbourhoods.
Day 40-41: Redwood National Park
More exquisite landscapes today. See the soaring trees of this wonderful park and follow the coastal and riverside trails.
Day 42: Portland
Enjoy the hipster vibes of Portland. Get together with your group in the many independent coffee shops and microbreweries and toast the adventure so far.
Day 43: Seattle
As the birthplace of Starbucks, you know you’ll find a good brew here! Discover this city’s quirky cafes and epic live music scene.
Day 44-45: Vancouver
We leave U.S. soil today as we cross over into Canada. Vancouver is seriously awesome. Hire rollerblades or a bicycle to explore this city in style.
Day 46-47. British Columbia – Lake Louise
The Canadian treats keep coming today as we journey through British Columbia. Gaze across the exquisite landscapes and see Lake Louise, a staggeringly beautiful lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
Day 48-49: Banff National Park
More mind-boggling beauty as we spend a few days in Banff. Stroll along the scenic trails and climb Sulphur Mountain on the tram. If that all sounds like too much hard work, then simply sink into a muscle-soaking hot spring and laze your days away.
Day 50-52: Glacier National Park – Montana
We hop back over into the USA now and spend some time in Glacier National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for the diverse wildlife and hike from lake to peak and back again.
Day 53-54: Yellowstone National Park
There are few national parks that are as visually impressive as Yellowstone. With explosive geysers, volcanic pools, gushing waterfalls, and wandering buffalo, this park delivers jaw-dropping scenery at every turn.
Day 55: Cody
Cody is the heart of the Old West. Get your boots a-tappin’ and your whip a-crackin’ in this awesome slice of the past.
Day 56: Mount Rushmore
See the legendary presidential faces carved into Mount Rushmore. Gaze up at Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln, and then see a memorial dedicated to Crazy Horse, an iconic Native American leader.
Day 57: Badlands National Park
Check out Wall Drug, a famously enormous drugstore in the town of Wall. Then venture into Badlands, a lunar landscape of soaring spires and rugged ridges.
Day 58: Minnesota
Check out the Jolly Green Giant statue (of sweetcorn fame) and then make camp in the rolling prairies of Minnesota.
Day 59-60: Chicago
The so-called Windy City is next! Wander the streets, catch a baseball game and sample the city’s swingin’ night life.
Day 61: Cedar Point
Enjoy the thrills and spills of Cedar Point Amusement Park and then make camp by beautiful Lake Erie.
Day 62: Niagara Falls
Check out the sheer force of these legendary waterfalls. You’ll get super close (and probably quite wet) on an included ‘Maid of the Mist’ cruise.
Day 63: Niagara Falls – New York Area
We’ve come full circle! Our tour ends at approx. 5pm. If you plan to depart today, please do not book a flight that departs before 9pm to allow time for transfer and check in.

62 nights of accommodation are included on this tour. 45 nights will be spent camping in American campsites. 6 nights will be spent in hotels and 11 nights in budget accommodation. All camping equipment apart from a sleeping bag is included.
Meals are not included on this tour. You are required to contribute USD10 per day to a food kitty that will cover your meals at camp. You will take turns in the group to prepare and shop for food.

Your tour starts at a hotel just outside New York City at 7:30am on day 1. Due to this early start we recommend you arrive the night before and book an extra night of accommodation at your own cost. Your tour ends back in the New York Area on day 63 at approx. 5pm. If you plan to fly out that night, please don’t book a flight that departs before 9pm to allow time for transfers and check-in. The minimum age to join this trip is 18 years, the maximum is 38 years. Please be aware that the legal drinking age in the USA is 21. If you are under 21 years old you will not be able to buy alcohol or enter clubs/casinos.
British Nationals visiting the USA will be able to travel (for tourism purposes) under the US Visa Waiver Programme for up to 90 days. If you intend to stay for longer than this, plan to work, have ever been arrested or hold any criminal convictions, you will need to apply for a visa. How Much Money Do I Need To Bring On The Tour?
For camping tours you will need to budget for the food kitty. This is usually US$10 a day however see individual tour pages for specific details. This will cover all of your meals while camping but does not cover meals during hotel stops or when the group chooses to sample regional cuisine.
Do I Need To Tip?
Although it may not be customary in your country, it is normal and expected in North America to tip waiters, bar staff, any type of guide and taxi drivers. Service workers are paid a low wage and depend upon their tips for their livelihood. A minimum of 15% is standard in restaurants. Your tour leader works long and hard for you. He or she may well become your close friend during the tour, but they also need to pay their bills. If the leader's performance meets or exceeds your expectations we recommend a tip of US $5 per person, per day.
