Day 1: Depart from Los Angeles and hit the road.
Kick off in Hollywood early morning on day 1, where it’s time to hit the road as we journey across the California desert towards Arizona. We’ll stop off at Colorado River for a refreshing dip before pitching our tents up for a night beneath the stars! Get to know your fellow travellers as you chat around the campfire and toast marshmallows in the flames.
As this trip starts very early on Day 1, you will need to arrange accommodation for the night before the tour starts. Please contact us for further details and we can arrange this for you.
Day 2: The Grand Canyon
We’ll stock up on drinks and snacks this morning before enjoying the ride to the immense Grand Canyon! Be prepared for the sight of your life as we drive up to the rim to catch our first glimpse of the rusty red expanse that draws visitors from all over the world – and now you’re part of it! It’s truly spellbinding, so take your time to marvel in awe! Wait for sunset or get up early for sunrise...it will be worth it.
Day 3: Las Vegas
We leave the Canyon and return to the highway, turning west to retrace our tracks and take a detour to Seligman, a small town left over from the old days of Route 66. After the Canyon and Route 66, we head into Vegas! We’ll cruise the Strip in a party bus, then check into our hotel. Feeling adventurous? Try the Stratosphere ride. Feeling thirsty? You’ll find tons of places to grab a drink with the group. Feeling lucky? Hit the casinos, it’s free to just wander around!
Day 4: More Vegas
Sleep in to get over last night or get up and hit the shops! You can explore the hotels and casinos, take in a show or even get married dressed as Elvis and Priscilla! Vegas is your playground, so get go-karting, feel the high on a roller coaster rides, or head out on a VIP club tour!
Day 5: Yosemite National Park
We’ll say goodbye to the Vegas euphoria and get stuck into a terrific day’s road trip to Yosemite National Park today. We’ll head off early and take in several stops before reaching the absolutely beautiful park. The park is set in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, so get ready for sweeping mountain views and stunning flora and fauna. We’ll camp and relax this evening before a great day in the outdoors tomorrow!
Day 6: Action and adventure in Yosemite
We’ll rise bright and early for an energising start to the day! There are trails to be hiked, paths to be biked, wild animals to spot and photos to be taken! The waterfalls are stunning and rush over the massive granite cliff-face of El Capitan, which stretches 3000 feet straight up from the ground. You’ll love the refreshing vibe of Yosemite after your Vegas jaunt, so make sure you don’t miss a thing!
Day 7: San Francisco...
The centre of the hippy culture and flower power in the 1960’s is now, along with Silicon Valley to the south, the capital of the tech industry. We’ll arrive in time to stop off at The Golden Gate Bridge, and if you want to experience an unbeatable view you can walk right across it! Check out the ancient cable cars and the impossibly steep hills. The tour ends at 5pm, and we’ll be on hand if you want to arrange further travel for more exploration!

How Does The Food Kitty Work?
Each traveller is required to contribute $10 per day while camping to cover meals at camp. This will be collected in cash by your tour leader on your first day. All cooking equipment is provided, and you will take turns buying, preparing and cooking the meals for the group.
How Much Spending Money Should I Bring?
We recommend budgeting around $15 per day for drinks and snacks. You will also want to bring some extra money for optional activities. We recommend researching the kinds of thing you’ll want to do while you’re away (such as seeing Vegas shows or hiring bicycles in Yosemite) and budgeting accordingly.
Due to Covid-19, many of our partners and suppliers across the globe are putting in place new procedures and policies regarding health and safety in response to the outbreak. These new measures will adapt and change as the state of travel evolves, and the policies and procedures will vary depending on each trip. Some changes that you may experience on our trips are:
Updated safety & hygiene procedures
Health and safety measures will be adapted by our partners and suppliers, dependent on local laws and restrictions.
Different transport & accommodation
You may find yourself on transport or in accommodation that would not typically be used, such as hostels that are more secluded, or on more private transport. This may vary by trip, or even by individual departure dates.
Most trips include a meeting on arrival with the guide or local team to discuss the trip, and this is an opportunity for you to ask any questions. You should arrive in time to attend these briefings.
Emergency support 24/7
We have a UK based 24/7 emergency phone line if you have a genuine urgent matter that you need attending.
Knowledgeable & Trained Staff
We can help answer any questions or concerns you may have before you depart. Whilst travelling the guide or local team on our trips are there to help, and to ensure the smooth running of our trips.
Should you require medical assistance whilst travelling, the local team or guide will be able to help you get to a point of care. Medical facilities and standards can vary across the glove, so you should ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place.
Varying group sizes
To begin with, many trips will run with amended group sizes, so you may find smaller groups than would be typical. This may vary by trip, or even by individual departure dates.
Whilst there may be changes on our trips, it is vital that you make travelling safer for yourself, your travel companions, the local staff and guides, and the people of the country you are visiting. You should follow all local laws and restrictions, and follow the guidance of the local team. In addition, you can help make travel safer by bringing and using your own face coverings/masks and hand sanitiser, social distance where appropriate, wash your hands frequently, and cover your face when coughing or sneezing.
