During the programme, academy members will be responsible for sticking to their own training regime/schedule. Working with a former international and NZ Level 3 coach, each player has a training logbook in order for their development to be more measurable and their progress realistic.
The training will cover the following areas:
- Gym fitness work and flexibility training
- Cricket specific fitness training. /li>
- Spin bowling skills focusing on target and ball revolution/li>
- Bowling machine sessions to improve batting and wicket keeping /li>
- Fielding skills and a variety of fielding practice drills /li>
- Pace bowling development – looking at bowling action, run up etc /li>
- Video analysis of player’s techniques /li>
- Group net sessions with other academy players/li>
What’s Included in the Programme
- Training under the supervision of a former New Zealand International
- All accommodation at the academy
- Most meals
- Transfers to and from Napier Airport
- Good Training Facilities
- Player assessment, with the use of video equipment
- Use of the academy’s other facilities including Sky TV, a fully equipped gym, squash courts, tennis courts and swimming pool
- Matches against local sides as part of the Academy team
- Australia Tour (see below for inclusions)
Tour to Australia Includes:
- Two to four matches versus Aussie club development teams (dependent upon fixture arrangements)
- A day off to visit Sydney’s beaches – including world-famous Bondi and Coogee
- Accommodation in Sydney
- Return flights from Wellington to Sydney
What’s Not Included in the Programme
- International flights to New Zealand
- Health and travel insurance, which must cover you for sports training
- Items of a personal nature
- Any trips/excursions above the mentioned itinerary
- Alcoholic beverages/extra snacks
