Trip Summary

Discover the beautiful islands of Indonesia on this fantastic group trip. Bringing together our popular Bali Beaches experience with our adventurous Komodo Island Hopping adventure, this combo travel package is the ultimate introduction to this spectacular part of the world.

You’ll begin with 8 days in Bali, a backpacker paradise of beautiful beaches and lush forests. Explore tranquil temples, learn to surf in crystal clear waters and interact with local people in schools and a coffee plantation. After a few days of beach bliss on the stunning Gili Islands, you’ll venture off the beaten track to Indonesia’s more remote locations. This part of the trip dials up the adventure an extra notch: there are fewer western amenities, fewer tourists, and even more incredible untouched landscapes. Hop between islands, get up close to komodo dragons, and swim with gorgeous manta rays on this epic Indonesian experience!

Bali Beaches - (8 days)

The first part of your trip is dedicated to the beautiful island of Bali. On arriving into the airport, you’ll be collected and transferred to your accommodation in Kuta. Here, you’ll meet the rest of your group and enjoy a delicious welcome meal and drinks.

You’ll begin exploring the next day, taking in the incredible cliff-top Tanah Lot Temple and enjoying a drink on a beautiful beach-front bar. Over the next few days, you’ll visit Uluwata Temple, enjoy an included surf lesson on Kuta beach, meet cheeky monkeys in Monkey Forest and interact with local children at a primary school. You’ll also learn about local coffee production at a coffee plantation and wander through the striking emerald rice terraces of Ubud.

Your final two days see you exploring the stunning islands that surround Bali. Sail around the dreamy Gili Islands, explore perfect Gili Trawangan by bicycle and discover some of Indonesia’s incredible snorkel spots. Swim close to colourful coral reefs and even spot sea turtles!

On your final evening, you’ll enjoy a farewell meal and party before gearing up for the next stage of your adventure!

Gili Trawangan to Lombok

The first part of your experience ends on Gili Trawangan on day 8. You will need to make your own way from here to Lombok, where your next tour begins. The easiest way to do this will likely be a combination of ferry and bus. Your guide will be able to advise you on your best transfer options from the island.

Please note: Depending on start dates, there may be a few free days between the two sections of your trip. This free time is a great opportunity to do some independent exploration of your own! Please speak to a travel advisor for more information.

Komodo Island Hopping (9 days)

The next stage of your adventure takes you further off the beaten track, taking you to places that few travellers have ever seen!

Your experience begins in Kuta. If you travel to Lombok International Airport, you will be entitled to a free transfer to your accommodation. Your first day is a chance to relax and settle in. On day 1, you will enjoy a rare glimpse of traditional Indonesian ways of life with a trip to the local Sasak village. Here, you’ll meet local people, learn traditional weaving techniques, and trek through the jungle to a nearby waterfall.

Discover beautiful island beaches over the next 3 days. Check out the golden sands of Lombok, explore the remote island of Sumbawa and enjoy a guided tour of Moyo Island, led by a local guide. Then, we’ll board our beautiful live-aboard boat and sail around spectacular islands, including Satonda, Komodo, Padar and Flores. We’ll swim with manta rays, get up close to the mighty komodo dragon, stroll along the enchanting pink sands of Pink Beach, and enjoy nightly dinner and drinks under the stars on the deck of our boat. Life doesn’t get much sweeter than this! Our tour ends on day 9 in Flores.

Please note activities and itineraries are subject to change.

Is It Okay To Travel Alone?

Yes! In fact, most of our customers travel alone! A combo trip like this, which includes a group and guide, is a great way to meet new people and have fun!

How Much Spending Money Should I Bring With Me?

A rough weekly estimate of £100-150 should cover food, drinks and money for souvenirs, but don’t forget to look into the cost of other activities before you travel!

Do I Need To Bring A Mosquito Net?

You can do if you like as nets might not be provided at some places we stay in. Although if you keep windows and doors closed in your rooms you shouldn’t be bothered by mosquitoes. We do recommend bringing a high percentage DEET insect repellent though.

Do I Need Vaccinations?

We’re not qualified to offer you medical advice, so you should visit your GP well ahead of time to find out what inoculations you might need. Remember to tell them exactly where you’re travelling to as vaccination and medication requirements vary between different regions. You’ll also need to make sure you have enough of any prescribed medication to see you through the duration of your trip.
