Here at Real Gap we love a happy customer. So, to spread a little happiness we give all of our customers a shiny, super fantastic Online Account which you can use to do all the important things for your trip.
Your Online Account lets you do all kinds of stuff, in fact short of making you a cup of tea in the morning it'll do pretty much everything. With your Online Account you can -
All in all it's jam packed, full to the brim, chock-a-block and fit to burst full of good stuff. So to help you get the most out of it we've put together this quick little guide to a happy online account.
Where is this amazing box of tricks?
You can find it at www.myrealexperience.com. Check it out - it's pretty cool. When you visit the page you'll be asked to log in. We'll have sent you a username and password to do this with.
Your username will be the email address on your Real Gap booking and your password will be a mix of numbers and letters - it's randomly generated which makes your account secure as it's too fiendishly complicated for anyone to guess. However, it can be a bit tricky to remember so if you'd like to change it then you'll be able to do that once you've logged in.
OK - I've logged in, what next?
Nice work. Right, on the home screen you'll see a list of things we need you to do. A lot of this is information we need from you to make your trip run smoothly so please make sure you send it to us nice and early (thanks).
1. Complete the My Details page
Here you'll need your passport so make sure you have it handy. We'll also need any info about medical conditions or dietary requirements plus the contact details of who we need to get hold of in the event of an emergency. Don't worry - we take this as a precaution and just to be on the safe side. Also in this section please enter the date of your departure flight from your country of origin e.g. if you're flying out of the UK on the 10th January 2013 then you would enter 10/01/2013 in the box.
2. My Trips
Here you'll see a drop down list of all the trips you've booked. Some of you will have booked one trip and some of you will have booked loads of trips. Either way you're going to have an amazing time! No matter how many trips you've booked you need to go into each one and download a copy of your Trip Notes and also a copy of your Important Visa & Arrival Information.
You'll find links to both of these in the Trip Details box. Please make sure you read these carefully as they are important and will help you ensure you're 100% prepared for your trip.
Also in this section please include the flight arrival details of when you're arriving into this destination e.g. if you've booked the Thailand Experience then please give us the date and time that you are arriving into Bangkok. If you're not arriving by plane then please fill out your arrival details in the Additional Information box.
WHOAH - Important Note time: If we have already booked your flights for you then all your flight information will already be there for you. Nice! If you haven't booked your flights and would like a quote from us then please just get in touch or use our flight quote form.
3. Fill out your insurance details
You need to have insurance to go on any of our trips. If you have booked it through us then your details will appear on this page for you and you'll be able to download your policy documents. If you've booked it through a different provider then please enter the policy information in here. if you haven't booked insurance at all then make sure you do! If you want more details on our policies then you can find out more here or get in touch with us.
4. Paying for your trip of a lifetime
Ok - the bad news is you do need to pay for your trip but the good news is you're about to have the experience of a lifetime! On the Payments tab you'll be able to see any payments you've made and also pay off your balance. You do need to pay your full balance at least 90 days before departure - please don't forget this and remember it's the trip of a lifetime! If you have any problems with making a payment then please just get in touch.
5. Download your documents
In the Documents section we'll upload any important documents you need for your trip. You'll also find a copy of our Terms and Conditions here if you fancy some bedtime reading. Please check back before you travel to make sure you download everything you need to take with you.
6. It's all about the Inbox
In the Messages tab you'll find your own Online Account Inbox. Here we'll send you any messages and updates about your trip - these will be emailed to you as well.
7. Find out more in the FAQs
We've put together a list of questions that we get asked most often so make sure you take a spin through the FAQs section. if you can't find what you're looking for then by all means get in touch and we'll be happy to help. And if you think there's something that we should include here then just let us know and we'll add it on.
8. Get what you need in the Travel Shop
From flights to insurance, hotels to hostels, SIM cards to sunglasses and bundles of other beautiful stuff. Check out the Travel Store for links to all kinds of kit - better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it! You'll also find links to some of these essential items on the right hand side of every page.
9. In-Country Contact Details
Once you've paid your full balance then you'll be able to see your In-Country Contact Details under the relevant trip in the My Trips section. This is super important so please make sure you check this page, read it carefully, take a note of the contact details and print off a copy to take with you.
10. Relax and enjoy your trip
